Élise Paiement Biography

Twenty-five years ago, Élise made her debut in the wonderful world of golf at the l’Oiselet golf course located in Amos, Abitibi, her hometown.

Right from her very first swings, she fell in love with the sport that allows her to earn a living today. She played in several golf tournaments at the provincial level – competing against the best players in Quebec – and quickly earned her place among the elite.

Her golfing performance led to her being selected for the first sports study program of the Professional Golfers Association of Quebec (QPGA) at Estacades Academy in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Mauricie. There, she worked on her techniques with Debbie Savoy-Morel, today Head Professional at the prestigious Club de Golf Le Mirage and the first woman to become a head professional in Canada. Debbie is Élise’s mentor and model in the field of golf.

Then, Élise went off to the University of Arkansas in the United States where she played for a year on the NCAA circuit before returning to Quebec to become a member of the Association of Professional Golfers of Quebec (QPGA) and the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association (CPGA). She competes at least once a year against the best woman golfers in Canada on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour.

For over 15 years, she has worked alongside professional Martin Béliveau as assistant professional at Pinegrove Golf Club in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. She is in charge of the program for junior golfers, in addition to teaching club members.

In 2011, Élise joined the Performance Academy at the La Prairie golf club. In 2013, she had a great experience as manager of Team Quebec at the Canada Games. Having had the chance to train upcoming athletes from Laval and Lanaudière, today she coaches young athletes in the Montreal South Shore sports study program.

She holds a Bachelor in Physical Education from the University of Montreal, and also has CPGA teaching certification for beginner and intermediate golfers. She is a Class A Professional, the highest level in golf in Canada.
